Why are hot water systems failing across the suburb at the same time?
The mid-2000s build wave fitted homes out together, so original units are now hitting end of life in clusters, and replacements tend to follow each other within a year or two.
Can summer storms actually block my drains?
Yes. The suburb drains east into Wallis Creek's floodplain, and intense rain around the February peak pushes surcharge into yard and street drains, so gullies can sit full for days afterwards.
Should I worry about the flexible hoses under my sinks?
Worth checking. Original braided hoses in 2000s-onward homes are now old enough to split, and a burst one can flood a kitchen or laundry fast, which makes them a very common after-hours call.
